Handling phone traffic for all of this is turning into a hassle. I have an oral surgery office, and an e-commerce company, and am adding asoftware solutions company. None of these overlap in the real world. In the old days , when it was just the first two, we pointed the 800 numberfor the second company to one of our phone lines in our oral surgery officeand then marked that line with orange tape. Of course, an employee wouldinvariably pick up that line an answer for the wrong company. So, we addedan IP phone with virtual office from Packet8, and that has worked OK sincethen, short for the nuisance of having the physical handset hardware takingup valuable desk space. And the voice quality on Packet 8 can be quitecrappy at times. The phone system in the oral surgery office is a 10 year old modularPanasonic system that has worked well, but I'm certain there's a better wayto do things. Our ILEC is Verizon, and the phone traffic is all IP anywayssince we have FIOS (fiber), but I'm fairly certain any solution from Verizonwill be ridiculously expensive. Oh, and CommuniGate Pro is our mail server.
