Another way would be to use existing chat systems (YM, AIM, GoogleTalk, MSN....), embbed a client web interface and suggest the users to show their options or subscribe (http://www.koolim.com/)

Working with AJAX and WebDNA is easy.
I recommend using a script library like jQuery or Prototype
For a chatroom solution, you'll need to create an AJAX function to grab the chat messages, then create a function that calls that function every so many seconds
You can probably find plugins already built to do this
I use JQuery, AJAX, and WebDNA a lot, and can give tips there.

I have a request to build a dating website with a Chatroom.
I have found some Ajax stuff but all working with MySQL/PHP.
What are your experiences?
Thanks in advance
