Click this check box if you like cats Click this check box if you like dogs
If the person likes both cats and dogs and clicks on both in my forms.acgi the value of pets would be cats dogs. In Webcatalog it only gives me the value back of the first check box clicked not the second. So if I clicked on dog first then cat the value of pets is just dog.Now if I could combind variables, which I haved not tried yet this morning. Reading over the online docs at this minute looking for a reference for this. What I could do as an alternative if I can combind variables is the following
If you like Dogs click on Yes
Yes No
If you like Cats click on Yes
Yes No
In the second example the value of dogs or cats is checked to be value of . So if the person likes both cats and dogs and clicked on both then I would have two variables one called dogs that would = dogs and another one called cats that would = cats. Then if I could do a pets=[dogs]+[cats] I would get the same results. And if the person just liked dogs and left cats at the default value of then I would get pets=dogs+ in a literal sense. What I am trying to do in a form is allow somebody to select A,B,C,F from choices A,B,C,D,E & F and if they didn't select D and E, then the value of a single variable writen to a db would be only the items A,B,C & F.I hope this is as clear as the mud in my coffee cup left over from last night :)=============================================== Gary Richter PanaVise Products, Inc. 7540 Colbert Dr. Reno, Nevada 89511 Ph: 702.850.2900 Fx: 702.850.2929 Email: grichter@panavise.com http://www.panavise.com =============================================== Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
