You won't know if you have 6.2 or 6.3 until they configure the box for you. Only the beta build and pre-gold build for WebDNA 6.x work with GoDaddy right now. It took quite a long time to get them to work and I appreciate the back and forth that the WebDNA team did to make it work. GoDaddy uses Apache too. I first tried getting it to work with cPanel, but that was a total nightmare for me. I've been using Webmin since Y2K so I switched to that, saved money, and was much happier. Once GoDaddy sets up the VPS for you it's a bare box web server. You can do anything with it. I used putty to log in and configured WebDNA using the install directions in the readme.txt files. SSLs are easy to install through Webmin, and IP addresses are provisioned from GoDaddy whenever you request them. The only thing that drove me nuts for a while was realizing that ImageMagick is not installed on GoDaddy VPS by default. -Matt On 1/22/2013 11:26 AM, Jym Duane wrote: > sounds great i do have a go daddy account and can set up a vps. > i use 6x now have 6x licence and thus would not need to change code. > > i only have a few sites to move initially. > four will need own ip and ssl cert. > i use centos now and apache is that the config on go daddy? > or do you do install of os etc how you wish. > > unrelated directly i dont have to move email initially but need to > replace some perl forms and a few dns records from the same server in > order retire it. > i have already found services for both of those. > anything you could help in steps on or off list would be appreciated. > i have an off site incremental backup to my office. > jym > > > On 1/22/2013 3:41 AM, Psi Prime Inc, Matthew A Perosi wrote: >> I've successfully installed the current pre-gold version of WebDNA >> 6.x on a GoDaddy VPS.
