I've got it working now with a slightly hacky approach: cron job runs a script periodocally which creates a symlink called ErrorLog.txt in every folder recursively throughout entire site. The symlinks all point to a central ErrorLog.txt actual file at root of site... could also be Globals or wherever. It's crude but seems to work so far. There are still details like if a new folder is created and errors occur before the script runs to make the new symlink and delete the created ErrorLog.txt after transferring its records to the central log, but I'll figure out the housecleaning aspect of it later. For now just centralizing it is fine for proof-of-concept. -Dan Strong http://DanStrong.com On Wed, Jul 23, 2014 at 7:05 PM, Stuart Tremain wrote: > Dan > > It looks like that is in the engine, there is only the on/off preference. > > Maybe you could do some WebDNA that looks into all directories, sub > directories and deeper looking for the ErrorLog.txt and then roll them all > into one file or deal with each on its own. > > Regards > > Stuart Tremain > IDFK Web Developments > AUSTRALIA > webdna@idfk.com.au > > > > > On 24 Jul 2014, at 1:22 am, Dan Strong wrote: > > Is there a way to alter the behavior of ErrorLog.txt? > > Specifically, rather than have it drop the logs in the folder where the > error-causing page lives, I'd like to have a central ErrorLog.txt at, say > the root of the website. > > I plan to roll it of course to keep it from growing out of control. > > And yes, I know not having errors in the first place would solve the > problem... one can dream. > > -Dan Strong > http://DanStrong.com > --------------------------------------------------------- This message is > sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list . Maybe you could do some WebDNA that looks into all directories, sub= directories and deeper looking for the ErrorLog.txt and then roll them all= into one file or deal with each on its own.

I plan to roll it of course to keep it from growing out= of control.
