texte = Dear fellow customer,Following a change in WSC management, we are again moving forward. Our =targets this year include:- redesign the website to be modern and available to smartphone users- include the 70,000+ talk list history emails in the website- redesign and simplify store.webdna.usWe have a small budget for this and those of you who have ideas or are =interested in working on it, please contact us at development@webdna.usWe will also- fix some rare bugs- add JSON object support, to parse and store multidimensional JSON =objects into a WebDNA flat database. Thanks to Patrick McCormick to make =us more sensitive about the increasing presence of JSON in the web =environment: JSON is the format that javascript uses to get and return =information between browser and server. The server store and delivers =data that javascript handles and formats on the browser side. Modern =browsers now include powerful javascript engines. To quote Patrick: "Numerous tools including Angular.js, Backbone.js, =Underscore.js, Ember.js and more have all seen a recent explosion =because they provide model-view-controll style structure to the =JavaScript code written for this new style of website. On top of those =are hundreds of libraries and frameworks to simplify the process of =building JavaScript centric websites. WebDNA is not only a much better =language [to deal with javascript], but it eliminates dealing with SQL =as well.=94- build a new eCommerce system to replace the current one. We should =receive support from an external investor, and the new store will become =a licensed commercial product. The new eCommerce will make heavy use of =JSON and javascript. There will be a bidding to find the designers. You =can already contact us at development@webdna.us if you are interested.- build either (or both) a repository version of WebDNA fastCGI that =will be available with just an =93apt-get install webdna=94 and (or) =provide a packaged version of =93WebDNA + lighttpd=94 or =93WebDNA + =nginx=94 to be easily installed for the most widely used linux versions =(Ubuntu/CentOS and maybe Debian/RH). Ideally, with just an unzip and =some permission set up, it should be ready to start. The future =eCommerce system will be installed the same way on any linux server, the =choice of simplicity should attract new customers.- build support for MySQL into a specific fastCGI version. Due to =licensing restrictions, this implies to use external libraries that =makes installation slightly more complicated. At this time, MySQL is =only available to the module version.- change the licensing system for the apache module version, using the =current webdna.fcgi system: certificates will be sold =93by the =website=94. This will unify the WebDNA product price and greatly =simplify the current price grid.- build support for apache 2.4 with the module version- we plan to support the 64bit OS versions (Ubuntu, CentOS and OSX) and =slowly leave the 32bit version behind.- we plan to support Windows again with a WebDNA fastCGI version. This =might take up to two more years, unless we get additional funding and =beta testers. We wanted to integrate a powerful database administrator into the WebDNA =administration, but our current budget will probably not allow this =before some time.If you have requests, needs or ideas that you would like to share, you =can either do it publicly on the talk-list or contact us at =development@webdna.usAll this needs a considerable financial effort and any help of any kind =will be greatly appreciated.sincerely,- christophe
