Hi

This is odd. I=E2=80=99ve written hundreds of forms with textareas but this= one site is doing something very odd.

The following textarea content (fieldname =E2=80=9Cbody=E2=80=9D) has this = entered;

=E2=80=9CTest of first line plus weird characters = *&%^%$ and end of line. Single return.
Next line, with double return here.

Final line to test strange character thing.=E2=80=9D

It goes to the page handling the post just fine. Showing the field direct o= nto a browser shows that it=E2=80=99s all there. Showing the field in [url]= [/url] tags shows the proper translations of characters to their ascii equi= valents. But when it writes to the database it=E2=80=99s writing this;

=E2=80=9CTest of first line plus weird characters = *&%^%$ and end of line. Single return.
Net line, withh double return here.

Final line tottest strange character thing.=E2=80=9D

Random swapping out, removal and addition of characters, but apparently (ot= her tests confirm) only after the first linefeed. No other sites on the sam= e server have any problem and they=E2=80=99re all using the same code, howe= ver other pages within this site are doing the same thing.

The page handling the form post is doing nothing except writing the data to= database then redirecting to another page. Code is;

[text secure=3Dt]NewNewsID=3D[if [NewsID]=3D0][= then][math][search db=3D../db/OD_News.db&geNewsIDdatarq=3D1&NewsIDt= ype=3Dnum&deNewsIDsort=3D1&max=3D1][founditems][NewsID][/founditems= ][/search]+1[/math][/then][else][NewsID][/else][/if][/text]
[!]## I have a dislike of the autonumber feature :) =C2=A0[/!]

[replace db=3D../db/OD_News.db&eqNewsIDdatarq=3D[newNewsID]&append= =3DT]NewsID=3D[newNewsID]&title=3D[url][title][/url]&author=3D[auth= or]&body=3D[url][body][/url]&publishdate=3D[publishdate]&Live= =3D[Live]&writedate=3D[date %d/%m/%Y]&writetime=3D[time %I:%M %p][/= replace]

[redirect staff-news.html]

Running Ubuntu 10.04 with latest version of WebDNA... But as I said, all ot= her sites on this server are fine. I=E2=80=99ve also checked that file char= acter sets and save states are all the same, with both the database file an= d code files.

Anyone?

Thanks,
