Opinion: [input] should be called [output] ...

texte = I think the terminology is confusing me here ...Because of the name given to the [input] context, I was thinking that itshould be used on all my append forms that have a

tag ... topre-format text before it gets appended to the database. Obviously I waswrong ...[input] cannot and does not change anything about the data being enteredinto the database, instead it changes the text that's OUTPUT from adatabase field.The data that's actually entered into the <textarea> object is not changedat all - it includes all the soft returns the user has entered by hittingthe carriage return key on the keyboard.I think this context should actually be called [output] ... because it'schanging the soft carriage returns that are output from a database field to tags so the browser can display them properly.Here's my wish for the next version:Rename this context to [output] to make it indicate what it's actuallydoing - changing the data that's [output] from the database ... :)Sincerely, Ken Grome ..... ken@iav.comhttp://usarea.net/home.html
