Is there a way to just get to the last record in the database?

texte = Is there any construct in webcat that allows you to get access to the last record of the database, other than by sorting in order to append a new record based upon the last record?Right now I'm using a database to maintain a counter that is associated with the cart number, and I append a new record on with a cart number of 0 to search on for replacing. It seems kind of cumbersome and it would really be nice if there was a way to access the database strictly by position (e.g. first record, last record, nth record).
