It's one of the reasons we chose it for Music Beach. Similar performance is achieved doing searches on names like Mozart and Beethoven. We once did a search on the Music Beach database when it was around 150,000 records on the letter A it returned the max allowed records in under 30 seconds. FAST!!!Grant can tell you more about how it indexes and why it's so fast. I can't think of any commerce solution that you couldn't use it with. Of course, it's not just useful for commerce sites. WebCatalog itself is really mostly a database tool. The MebMerchant Lite part of it is a bonus.
