If your ideais to save your repeat customers as much time as possible, why not doit as effectively as possible? What you might want to consider doing instead, would be to makeWebCat create a special database for each of your repeat customers -essentially a customized mini-store for each customer. Eachcustomer's mini-store would be composed of every item that customerhas ever purchased from you -- just the SKU numbers, not the wholeproduct record (you can display that info from [lookup]s in your mainproduct database). Then when they shop with you, they will be selecting items directlyfrom their own mini-store instead of having to go to your main storefor their shopping. Do you see the obvious benefit to this setup? This will let your customers choose their items from their owncustomized selection of products, without them having to enter themain store and shop thru everything on a regular basis. And since their own mini-store contains EVERYTHING they have EVERpurchased from you, their mini-store will be a far BETTER source ofitems to choose from than the [oldcart] method you've been srtruglingwith for so long already. This mini-store approach makes each person's shopping experiencecompletely customizable to that individual, and it lets each repeatcustomer shop from an ideally-customized database of only thoseproducts he/she has an interest in.Oh, but what happens when a repeat customer decides to buy something new?Ah yes, that's when she must enter the main store, which would happenafter FIRST selecting all the regular items from her own customizedmini-store. By making WebCat add any new items she picks from themain store to her own customized mini-store AUTOMATICALLY, thisinsures that her mini-store always has a complete selection of allthe items she has ever purchased - thus making her trips to the mainstore less and less frequent as her mini-store gets more and morecustomized to her own shopping needs. If you take this approach instead of what you've been TRYING to do,you don't have to mess with going back into some old cart files totry to make it easy for repeat customers to shop there, and yourrepeat customers will be *better served* by having a COMPLETEselection of their own favorite items to choose from, instead ofchoosing from only the items they purchased during their last visit.:)Sincerely, Ken GromeWebDNA Solutions808-737-6499http://www.smithmicro.com/webdnasolutions/.
