Displaying xx number of characters

texte = I'm looking for a way to display only the first 80 characters of a description field. Can someone point me in the right direction? Do I need to use the new [GetChar] function? If so what would the syntax look like? I havn't been able to find anything in any of the reference pages (beta or otherwise).
