But they work because WebCat knows where they are. To use my ConvertToMail.db I have to specify a directory - and my upper ceiling is the root of the current virtual host. > Can't you just put an extra ../ or two in front of the db name to make > WebCatalog look outside the virtual host folder...No, outside files are not accessable for web users except the cgi-bin folder. It is one advantage of virtual hosts that nobody can go outside his root. Plugins do some sort of linking across the hierarchy or get connected by the webserver, I believe... As PCS said an alias would work but if I can't find an other way we will have to think about other ftp-settings: otherwise a user can make his way into the WebCatalog folder with the ftp client - that works because ftp a file based and not a http request... Would be nice to specify a folder for all shared databases in the WebCat preferences, the users.db and all others could be specified too - and finally we end up with preferences ten times as big as the program itself ;-)Peter __________________________________________ Peter Ostry - po@ostry.com - www.ostry.com Ostry & Partner - Ostry Internet Solutions Auhofstrasse 29 A-1130 Vienna Austria fon ++43-1-8777454 fax ++43-1-8777454-21 Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
