texte = I need a little help understanding the fundamentals of nesting a search. Here's my scenario: I have a database full of events - each record has the event info, organization info and sometimes an e-mail address. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish:1. Do a search for all records which contain @ in the OwnerEmail field - then summarize that by OwnerEmail so that I get a single list of all valid e-mails and the associated organization name [text2].2. From those results, I'd like to do a nested search for all records which have the same organization value [text2] as each of the records found during the first search and return a list of all titles associated with that organization. (my final objective will be to e-mail each organization a list of all of their records in our database - but first things first...)My current code (which doesn't work of course)This is in a hyperlink on the first page: -------------------------------------- This is on the results page: -------------------------------------- [numfound][foundItems][text2] [search db=catalog.txt&eqtext2datarq=[text2]] [foundItems][Title]
[OwnerEmail] [sku]

[/foundItems] [/search] [/foundItems]------------------------------------------------------- Currently I'm getting results that appear as though the summ-T is being applied in the first search (if I run it withouth the nested search I do get the reults I anticipated) but the nested search seems to ignore the summarized results and starts a search based upon an un-summarized list of results of the outer search.I hope that makes some sense - My error is probably obvious to those familiar with nesting searches but there no documentation of this and the searchable archives were no help either. Thanks in advance for the assistance. -Marty Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
