taxTotal problem

texte = hmmmm, I'm having a taxTotal problem, as in, it displays a 0.00 even though the [ShipTostate] and it's correct [taxRate] are being returned. I pretty much copied that code right out of Tea Room, and [SubTotal] and [GrandTotal] are working fine, so it is extremely aggravating. I don't know what I can de-bug, since it's supposed to happen transparently. The relevant code is included below.
