texte = One of my [ShowNext] problems has been solved . . . . Thanks for the tipsBut . . .Here's my other scenario . . .I have a database with items that have been approved with a Y in therespective field.I also have a field called category which uses a drop down list at theentry stage and the search stage.I need to use [showNext] to show the first 10, then the second ten, etc.I seem to be having trouble with the drop down / selection parts . . .here's my initial search form
Choose a Category from the List
This works fine as is.I get a results page showing ALL the found category items. One the results page I do a quick search of the same database to show howmany in the category have been found and I also bring up the Category as atable header to show which category was searched,[Search db=items.db&categorydatarq=[category]&approveddatarq=Y]
Found [numFound] Approved Items in [category].This too works A-OK at this stage. All behaves as I want it to . . .BUT, when I try to use a ShowNext all hell brakes loose.I've been using this on my other ShowNext search pages and it works fine formy tests and the final page.[ShowNext position=begin&max=1]
Previous Group[/ShowNext][ShowNext position=end&max=1]
Next Group[/ShowNext]I CANNOT get any ShowNext to appear. it sorta seems like my second search onthe results page where I also would have the ShowNext start to appear messesthings up.I'm thinkin' my search again into the .db for the numfound result causesthis new search to be the [SearchString] in the ShowNext code.I've tried different ways of indicating max values and approve field =Yall with no avail. Is there a better way to set up my code (Must be . . .) in order to make mysearchs as well as the ShowNext behave as they do before I try to use anyShowNext stuff????It all works so well before I add the [ShowNext] [ /ShowNext] stuff in thisother search the database page.Like always, many thanks for any tidbits of info . . . . .Richardrichard@gravesource.com
