texte = I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the lack of PCS/Smith Microsupport on this list and I can no longer remain silent. PCS has alwaysbenefitted from a very active core of longtime WebCat users supplying thebulk of support on this list. This has worked very nicely to PCS'sadvantage - existing WebCat users provided the first line of support foruser issues and PCS personnel would take care of more technical problems, bug fixes etc.At one point in time I considered this list to be a model example of howwell a small s/w developer (with limited resources and good product) andits user base could work as a cohesive community for the betterment of alland I am trully greatful to all the WebCat'rs who have helped me over theyears.Well now I'm afraid that either PCS either has grown complacent orambivalent towards its users and list participants. If you look over thepast few months of postings you wilI find that that support from PCS isvirtually non-existent. Repeated requests for bug fixes, clarifications oreven a simple acknowledgement of an outstanding issue are simply ignored -as I'm sure this message will be.I find this change quite alarming and disconcerting. I have always been avery vocal advocate of PCS and WebCatalog, and the WebStar list is litteredwith my postings recommending WebCat, Typhoon et al. But I can no longerand will no longer recommend PCS products until PCS re-commits to providinga reasonable level of service to its users. Its clear that PCS does not fully understand the level of investment wedevelopers have in the WebDNA enviroment. Many of have staked a huge partof our futures in developments based upon PCS products. I for one have over6 months of full time development into a single project - and I know thatothers have much more.I am now seriously having to consider the impact of having to rewrite thisproject (and many others) using some other product - and not because WebCatisn't a great tool for the project but because I can't continue to investmy future in a development environment which, at best is being grosslyunder supported, and at worst is showing the telltale signs of beingorphaned in the near future.Other users have been in contact off-list expressing these samefrustrations. It is time for PCS to make a demonstrative statementaddressing these outstanding issues. If PCS continues to remain silent thenI for one will assume that the company no longer cares about maintainingits customer base and the migration will begin.I look forward to, and hope for a response.Marty SchmidArtwerks-------------------------------------------------------------Brought to you by CommuniGate Pro - The Buzz Word Compliant Messaging Server. To end your Mail problems go to
