texte = This is a bit of a problem for WebCatalog/UNIX/(MacOSXServer) and Mod-SSL users.Current Versions are: Apache/1.3.11 - mod_ssl/2.5.0 - OpenSSL/0.9.4As at mod_ssl/2.4.5 or later, mod_ssl and Apache use EAPI (Extended API), but the WebCatalog module uses Plain 1.3 API. The problem is that to run WebCatalog and Secure services together under the current versions (above) you need to have EAPI compiled into apache.Clip from Ralf S. Engelschall, creator of mod_ssl:>If you don't enable mod_ssl, EAPI will be also not >enabled. One can enable EAPI manually via --enable-rule=EAPI >even if mod_ssl is not enabled, of course. But one cannot >enable mod_ssl without also have EAPI enabled implicitly. >So you can use plain API, but only without SSL.So... when starting apache with mod-ssl and the WebCatalog module loaded, you get this WARNING message:[warn] Loaded DSO /usr/local/apache/htdocs/WebCatalog/mod_webcatalog2.so uses plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI! (please recompile it with -DEAPI)Which mean's (i think) that we need to recompile WebCatalog with -DEAPI (?)Can anyone else verify/deny/help with this??? or find a way around it - or am i doing something worng? If this is so then UNIX and MacOS X Servers WebCatalog users are stuck at old versions of the above grouping of software.I have quered Ralf further about this - but have not yet received a reply.Cheers -- Simon Buchanan - Technical Design and Administration --------------- New Media Communications --------------- mailto:simon@newmediacom.net http://www.newmediacom.net-- If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0 --############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
