It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 35243
interpreted = N
texte = So, in The Pubb, I just have two fields per record, the original thread, and the parent of the current thread you're looking at. The final piece of information I keep is the thread's depth (so, if it's the original message, it's depth is 1....a reply is 2). For my own reasons, I have the main thread's parent equal to itself.Then if I select a message, I know the original thread, so I can do a search on all messages in *that* thread at a specific level, or do a search on all messages with the current message as the parent, or combinations, etc...Hope that structure helps you out. Not that I want to encourage this, but if you just got a demo of The Pubb, you could just rip my entire database structure for your own use, and then toss away the demo.-HowardOn Wed, 26 Jul 2000, WebDNA Support wrote:> >Has anyone ever used WebCatalog for the creation of a web based > >discussion forum? > > http://www.thepubb.com/ > > -- > Technical Support ********************************** > Smith Micro, Internet Solutions Div | eCommerce (WebCatalog) > 16855 West Bernardo Drive, #380 | ------------------------- > San Diego, CA 92127 | Software & Site Development > WebCatalog Support: (858) 675-0632 | http://www.smithmicro.com > Fax: (858) 675-0372 ********************************** > > ------------------------------------------------------------- > This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to > the mailing list . > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > Web Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/ > ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
