Which it handles much better now. At anyrate one needed to keep the db's to a minimum if one had more than onewebsite. Since we did and do, we designed the system to use one database ieSKU CAT MCAT TITLE DESCRIPTION1 2 10_2,10_3 Toy Foam and Rubber oh what fun.In this way we could search CAT & MCAT collectively for the value 10_2 orthe value 2. MCAT was in essence a table of its own. Now if we designed thiswithout those constraints then yes we could have built that without thosecontraints. But since this was built 6+ years ago how does your comment helpme with the function of word breaks.Additionally since we performed the search on this db, we did not have to doa second search to retrieve further information in another search. For example lets say we are looking for items in the category 10_2, so weset our search that way. It then returns 50 records and we displayinformation from the database like title and description. We can also haveany number of categories not limited by the number we set up if we were touse separate fields. If we do the search under your system we now search thecat.db file and return our same 50 records only now we have to do 50searches to get the Title, Description, price etc.... The latter seems muchmore processor intesive, I could be wrong though since there is more data towade through in the first example.Sincerely,Robert MinorDirector of Internet Services------------------------------------------------------------Cybermill Communicationshttp://www.cybermill.com http://www.merchantmaker.comProviding Ecommerce and interactive website development andhosting services on Macintosh, Windows NT, Unix, and AS/400.All your websites are belong to us!-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .To unsubscribe, E-mail to: To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to Web Archive of this list is at: http://search.smithmicro.com/
