texte = This is the first time I've been stumped in a long time so hopefully someone canhelp me:I'm trying to append some text from a textarea into a db. The problem: the textis usually copied from Word which means special characters (quote marks, apostrophes and dashes to name a few). We are using Webcat 4x on NT. I do nothave any problems achieving this using a Mac browser (Netscape or IE). Myproblem is on the PC versions of IE. As soon as they come across a specialcharacter, it lops off everything after it. I have tried [convertchars] tags butthey did not work. I set up my own convert db and called it by [convertcharsdb=myconvert.db], but neither the Mac nor the PC seem to acknowledge the db. Ihave tried to convert the characters to their html version (i.e. ) and toanother character such as turning all quotes into inch marks(). Nothing seemsto work. Any ideas?textarea:
append:[append db=../db/article.db]asku=[asku]&atitle=[convertcharsdb=../db/myconvert.db][atitle][/convertchars]&adate=[adate]&a=[convertcharsdb=../db/myconvert.db][a][/convertchars][/append]myconvert.db contains:from to‘ '“ ” ? --------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
