System going to a crawling speed before crashing or freezing.I found out that due to a little coding error one of the sites was not deleting its shoppingcart files correctly. So after deleting them a few weeks later the harddisk was ENORMOUSLY fragmented. (9GB free space, largest free block 0.4MB!) So I did a little speeddisk- run, and the system was performing nicely again.-----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: WebCatalog Talk [mailto:WebDNA-Talk@talk.smithmicro.com]Namens Frank Nordberg Verzonden: donderdag 2 januari 2003 2:22 Aan: WebCatalog Talk Onderwerp: Re: Server capacity Thanks to everybody who've replied both off- and onlist so far. Lots of valuable info for me here. :-) I've also gotten some very interesting hosting offers and I'm going to have a serious look at them. But I have to emphasize that apart from the recent capacity problems I'm *very* satisfied with my present host. They've always done a great job, been extremely service-minded and even given me some special privileges I wouldn't even dare to ask for from anybody else. So if we can manage to find a technical solution within their system, that's what I go for.Bob Minor wrote: > That's quite a bit of storageI use less than 500 MB now, but I need some headroom.> and it is also a busy site.Well, yes.
