weird user / authenticate happenings

texte = is this unusual or is it me . . .a person creates their own username/password combo user = 1955 pass = emologin with browser based authenitication is a-ok BUT I really need to have the username appear like this (I need the first letter of the first and last name and then I need to add the end letter depending on what kind of user this would be)user = le1955v pass = emoIf I access my user data in my admin pages and change the username to le1955v no luck, can't login at alluser = le1955v pass = emo these won't workAm I NOT able to change a username after its been written to a db??That makes no sense though because if I go back into my admin pages and change le1955v to 1955 all works well again, so I am able to make changes to the usernameI reloaded, rebooted, flushed etc . . . same results each time.
