texte = Sorry for the OT... quick question for anyone who cares to answer...Not important at all, but I'm just curious.... Whenever I do a traceroute, this IP comes up as the very first hop: 10.116.146.1I'm on cable modem... is it a proxy server or something? I read the info about RFC 1918, but it just doesn't really make much sense to me... if the answer is really involved or whatever, I'd be happy to read whatever I'm pointed to, but I don't really know where to start...TIAHere is the info on the lookup:-----------------------------------whois whois.arin.net 10.116.146.1:OrgName: Internet Assigned Numbers Authority OrgID: IANAAddress: 4676 Admiralty Way, Suite 330City: Marina del ReyStateProv: CAPostalCode: 90292-6695Country: USNetRange: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 CIDR: 10.0.0.0/8 NetName: RESERVED-10NetHandle: NET-10-0-0-0-1Parent: NetType: IANA Special UseNameServer: BLACKHOLE-1.IANA.ORGNameServer: BLACKHOLE-2.IANA.ORGComment: This block is reserved for special purposes.Comment: Please see RFC 1918 for additional information.Comment: RegDate: Updated: 2002-09-12OrgAbuseHandle: IANA-IP-ARINOrgAbuseName: Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number OrgAbusePhone: +1-310-301-5820OrgAbuseEmail: abuse@iana.orgOrgTechHandle: IANA-IP-ARINOrgTechName: Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Number OrgTechPhone: +1-310-301-5820OrgTechEmail: abuse@iana.org# ARIN WHOIS database, last updated 2004-01-21 19:15# Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's WHOIS database.-Dan------------------------------------------------------------http://www.StrongGraphicDesign.comhttp://www.SearchBoise.com-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
