If you constantly delete the last record then you end up reusing the same database ID over and over in the latter scenario. Thus restoring old data becomes impossible. :-) funny that you say this. I have used snippets of your DBEdit code in the past and just ran into a situation where I was relating data to the ID field. Well, when that record ID changes (gets deleted and then gets re-assigned) you now have a situation where Joe Schmoe is now John Doe! oops ;-) Some additional code helped fixed that scenerio. So I think in general, if there is any plan of relation, it is a good practice to use a global ID! Still learning, Donovan =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
