Well, I have been usingthis app for quite some time for my clients. My intention wasto make money off this application by packaging it up andselling it in a few different ways. It is a lot of code anda lot of features... very helpful features. In fact, ittotally changed the way I do business and turned interactingwith clients from a mess of emails and mis-understandings intoa trouble free system of communications and records. It is not limited to people who offer coding services. It allows one to keep track of products and services as well.I am trying to decide what to do with this build. Thetalk about a forum got me thinking about it (since thereis a link to the build from the forum link that I posted).Though I don't know for sure what I want to do with it,I have taken the protection off the build and decidedto open it up for all of you to play with. When I say "play",I should really say study. This is more an applicationthat needs some instruction to use. Here is a basic rundown(* should read on when you have time ;-)*):The system is designed to flow in this way: I will usea moch job that Is actually currently in the system asan example.---------------------------------------------------------The johndoe inc. company comes to you and wants youto quote on a project. they provide a spec for you tolook over.- - - - - - -Here is how the system works.THE QUOTING SYSTEM:Everything Starts with a Quote. You are first asked toenter the customer information in. You start by adding"line items" of services. This may make more sense whenyou are "playing" with it. You add, for example, the purchaseof the domain along with the cost for that product/service.Once you are done with all the lineitems... you can savethe quote. You are taken to an overview of the quote. Here you can send it to the customer (via email), printit out to send via snail mail, or there are a numberof other ways in the works to get it to the customer.Once the customer gets the email quote, they are providedwith a link to there quote on line. They can add dialogthere if they are still not quite sure about approvingthe quote. Or, they can approve the quote on-line. Ifthe customer is not really internet savy, they have theoption of asking you to approve it.Lets back up one minute.THE PROPOSAL SYSTEM:There is also a proposal system. This proposal systemis based around the quoting system. Let say the job isinvolved and requires a more proffessional "proposal" ratherthan just a quote with numbers. This build has a systemthat lets you put together html/css that interacts withthe quote. It is an option available for the quotingprocess. You first create the quote. then click on"Proposals". When you start a new proposal, it willask you for the quote to "link" with. You select itfrom a drop down and proceed from there. The user hasto know about html/css to use this feature!THE APPROVAL:Once the customer is satisfied with everything, wetherit be the proposal or the simple numbers from the quote, they approve the quote on-line. This action createsan invoice automatically. It sends a notice to "you"that an approval has taken place (and provides a link).THE INVOICE (and Doing the Job):At the invoice overview, "you" can do a number of things...such as edit everything. You can specify payments thatare made. You can specify the status of a job.You can track the job.TRACKING a JOB:Once a quote is approved and you are ready to starton a job, this build provides a job clock that records(down the second) the time you spend on a job. To tracka job, simply click on "tracking" and enter the invoicenumber and "clock in". This starts the time. Clock outand in whenever you are working. Then, at the invoiceoverview, your time is noted.FINAL OVERVIEW:That is the basic overview of the build. However, thereare a lot of little features including reports.. want toknow what you made in a month?, Year?, day?. There isalso an ASSETS link that lets you create categoriesand records to keep track of your equipment and software.I think I have set up this demo so that one can't dotoo much damadge playing around on it (but who knows) :-).No emails go out, one can't edit the core settings, andall the databases have been cleared out... so. Feel freeto create a moch job and do a trial record keeping. I cananswer any questions as well... or fix little issues ifneeded. Here it is:http://www.euca.us/dev/accountant/billing/accounting.htmlLet me know what you think about it.Thanks,Donovan-- =o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o=o DONOVAN D.
