[WebDNA] Question about server performance ...

This WebDNA talk-list message is from

2008

It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 101262
interpreted = N
texte = I've been developing a new website remotely on my client's server, but that server seems to be responding to fewer and fewer WebDNA requests lately. Last night it got so bad that it was ignoring almost 3/4 of my requests! Is this a known issue with some WebDNA servers? The reason I ask is because I need to solve this problem for my client, but before I take any action I need to know if it's a WebDNA issue or not ... 1- If this is a WebDNA software issue does anyone know what's causing it? If so, what is the cause? 2- Can this problem be eliminated temporarily by rebooting the server? If so, how frequently should the server be rebooted to insure that it keeps responding to all the requests it receives? 3- Does this problem occur only on certain platforms? If so, which ones exhibit this problem and which ones do not? ----------------- There's no sense in my trying to find a new host for my client if the same problem is going to occur on other host's WebDNA servers, so I'm hoping that this is not a problem for all WebDNA hosts. For all I know, my client's server admin is supposed to be rebooting the server every day to eliminate this problem and maybe he is not. It may make more sense to "fix the problem on the existing server" than going through the hassle of switching to a new host, only to possibly experience the same problems there. On the other hand, if a new host can guarantee to eliminate these problems (and not cause any new problems that might be even worse) then maybe moving makes sense. I look forward to your suggestions for a reliable solution to this problem, thanks. Sincerely, Ken Grome Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
