texte = Hello DNA'ers!,We are nearing a point where we have to decide what todo with the WSDL Wizzard for WebDNA, and I'd like toget some comments or opinions. I don't know thatmany people use this as it was only available for ashort time before SMSI stopped support for WebDNA and perhapsbefore the spec changed (or servers changed) which, I think, caused the app to fail. It was also only available in theEE version of WebDNA... a bit about "the wizzard".. From my shallow understanding, the idea is that youcan look for web services out there onthe internet, interrogate the services, and then spit outcode (WebDNA/XML) to use those services. Services could bewhatever.. weather, realty, shipping etc.. It seems likea nice idea that has only marginally caught on in larger community. However, I still see signs of life in quite a lot of areas..PHP forums, IDE's (NetBeans) etc..Here is more on the subject for those that are interested:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_Services_Description_Languagehttp://www.w3.org/TR/wsdl20/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UDDIhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_Object_Access_ProtocolScope and Status of "the Wizzard":There was *a lot* of work done implementing this stuffinto WebDNA. Unfortunately,as it sits right now, It doesn't appear to work. Why?Well, I don't know exactly but I am guessing it has to dowith protocol changes and services that have gone unsupportedor that have changed in the last years. I haven't lookedinto this at any real depth yet, and currently, there isnoone in the development team that is a WSDL Guru! So, weare all kind of shoving it to the corner and sneering atit once in a while knowing we will have to deal with itsoon. ;-)So, we are approaching a time where we need to make some decisionswith this feature. Do we invest in this WSDL thing to continuesupport for it? Do we can it?What is your experience with WSDL?Thanks,Donovan-- Donovan D.
