Re: WebCat2b13MacPlugIn - [include]

This WebDNA talk-list message is from

1997

It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 10665
interpreted = N
texte = >Ken, you get your [include /file&var1=xx] to work yet?[include] works fine in all situations where I've tried it, with the following warnings:1- If you're going to 'include' a file that has a creator code 'WWW, then you *must* place a tag at the top of the page ... or WebCat2 will not include it.2- If you're doing something more complicated with WebDNA than most people, then you may have some problems. I am passing a variable from a hyperlink to the results.tmpl. The results.tmpl has a bunch of [showif] contexts, and there's a different [search] context inside each of these [showif] contexts. WebCat2 looks for the variable I passed to determine which [showif] to show, and it hides all the others.The 'guts' of my results.tmpl (including all the [founditems] and [shownext] tags) are located in a separate file. That file is placed into the results.tmpl by my use of the [include] tag.It seems that this particular configuration allows all the [shownext] links to look okay, but they will always retrieve the *first* group of matching records - instead of retrieving the group they are supposed to retrieve.Please stay tuned. I sent Grant a bunch of my .tmpl and .db files last night - at his request - so he could take a look at the problem and try to find a solution. >The minute I tried to pass a variable it hangs WebStar with or without the >. All my pages, .html or .tmpl are served by webcatalog.Thanks for your response about this 'variable passing' problem you've discovered, Gary. It seems that maybe the passing of variables 'thru' the [include] tag could be related to the problem I mentioned in #2 above. I'm sure Grant will see this message and take your results into consideration in his testing ...Sincerely, Ken Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
