So while it is true that apache only accepts a small =number of directives from .htaccess, i've found that in MY configuration =(the VPS in question is not mine), apache does accept all needed for =WebDNA. However, my httpd.conf has a fairly small footprint, so there =is also nothing there to override .htaccess. If it can be verified that =there truly are no errors with that method, then I think it's a really =ideal way to configure WebDNA, and possibly even be able to do it =without touching the command line. That is, when it actually CAN work. That aside, Chris was able to reveal to me some lines of conflict in the =httpd.conf, mostly pertaining to Ruby and PHP. Since this was =pre-configured by the DreamHost techs, I assumed it was done well. At =any rate, I followed this up with DreamHost to see about making changes =to the apache configuration. Most users will still want to use the =managed DH Panel (something similar to cPanel), so I'll see how much =flexibility I get there. Otherwise, we'll just take the site to another =VPS. =20I'm thankful to at least come to some conclusion on the matter. If I =end up successful in this scenario with DreamHost, I'll share my =results. I'm new to the DreamHost VPS services, but so far, it seems =rather amazing for developers who don't want to get entangled into the =actual server config. You can manage DNS, Hosting, ftp, mail, ssl, and =other services for each client from one interface. If we can get it to =play nice with WebDNA, then this would really be a great thing. =20Thanks!=
