Let's start with this char string: [text]s=abc1xyz2abc3xyz4abc5xyz[/text] Then we can easily extract "abc1xyz" like this: [middle endafter=xyz][s][/middle] And with some new "count" options we can extract "abc1xyz2abc3xyz" like this: [middle endafter=xyz&endcount=2][s][/middle] Or this to extract "3xyz4": [middle startafter=abc&startcount=2&endbefore=abc][s][/middle] And how about this to extract each sequence of "?xyz": [loop start=1&end=99] [text]string[index]=[middle startafter=abc&startcount=[index]&endafter=xyz&endcount=[index]][s][/middle][/text] [/loop] Just some thoughts to keep the talk list lively! :) Regards, Kenneth Grome WebDNA Solutions http://www.webdnasolutions.com Web Database Systems and Linux Server Management Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
