texte = Hello,Ubuntu 12.04WebDNA Server 8Maybe this will help some of you that have expressed problems with the ==93WebDNA Server Not Running=94, or having to use a restart.I had one client that had a server uptime of 309 days, running WebDNA =Server =938=94 (sort of a pre-8 really). It actually had an uptime =longer than that.. but restarted for non-critical reasons. This morning I woke up to issues (sparactic WebDNA errors, SSH =weirdness... and eventually the WebDNA Server Not Running finally. =Reboot would recreate that string of problems.=20Upon inspection, it turned out to be too many files in a directory=85 in =one of the ShoppingCarts directories to be exact. There were so many =files in this directory, that I could not even run =91ls=92 on it.The number of files, pretty much means the number of inodes. If you do a ==91df -i=92, you can see an inode column, with limits and usage.=20Now, I remember seeing some claims of problems with the Server version =related to inodes. I don=92t know what that was about, but the issue =here is that I obviously had too many files in a directory, which was =exceeding the limit of inodes allowed in a directory (something like 10 =million for this one I think :-) ).=20This is user error obviously... but sometimes these things are not =easily spotted or forgotten about.. so I thought I=92d relay my story to =the talk list.=20Hope it helps someone else.My Lesson (reminder): Periodically monitor disk usage, large logs, and =inodes (number of files in a directory)=85 and make sweepers and log =roller=92s as needed ;-)Couple of tools:Disk usage:df -hInode usage: (my issue this morning)df -ihow many files are in a particular directory:ls -l | wc -l (ls -=93ell=94 =93pipe=94 wc -=93ell=94)Happy Friday everyone.=20Donovan=
