I don'talways understand the reasons why some techniques work for me, but I alwaysremember when they gives me the results I seek.I was not trying to make you take my suggestion without an explanation, Ijust knew it would work - and I did not have any explanation to give you, sorry ...This is pure conjecture, but I believe the reasons have something to dowith Apple's network software. When I was testing FlexMail, it did exactlythe same thing as Emailer - it failed to work unless the designated POPserver was on a different machine.Fortunately, FlexMail came with clear instructions NOT to designate a POPserver on the same Mac, but Emailer does not come with the samerecommendation ... and maybe it should. If it is still important that you understand the technical reasons for thisbehavior, maybe someone at Pacific Coast or NetDreams or Apple can actuallyexplain the reasons to you. For my own needs, I could care less why thishappens - as long as I have a technique that resolves the problem, I'mhappy ... :)Sincerely, Ken Grome ..... ken@iav.comhttp://usarea.net/home.html
