The username/password in the .db is killing me also.Glenn,I changes the names of the username and password fields in my critical databases in order to get rid of the problems I was having in trying to admin those databases without being able to tell WebCat2 what username/passwords I want it to recognize, so I solved that problem, but ...Until I understand exactly what's going on with the lookup function, I'm not going to be able to use it in all the ways I was planning to. I think I figured it out, so I'm just waiting on confirmation of my beliefs from Grant. When he tells me for sure what's really going on, then I will be able to either confirm or deny my understanding of the situation at hand.Lookup is extremely fast, so if you plan to use it from the beginning instead of relying on searches all the time, it can speed things up even more than they already are ... and I LOVE fast database solutions ... the faster the better!Even though I've been using this software for a long time already, there's so much to it that I still run into new situations I haven't dealt with before, and sometimes they get me frustrated ... but only because I 'think' I know how it works so sometimes I assume things that aren't quite right, and then the results are not what I expected them to be.Of course, I can always go back to doing the 'same old things' I've been doing for months and months already ... but when I come up with a new concept for a 'better' way to do some things, I really need to understand exactly how WebCat2 works in these new situations so I can take full advantage of this software.Grant was right when he said I seem to like to 'push the envelope' of WebCatalog's capabilities, and I guess that's just my way. I like to understand everything about this software so I can use it to its fullest, especially when it's so flexible and powerful ... :)Oh well, this is just a minor thing for me ... I've been thru these situations many times before. I'll just work on something else until I hear from the source ... :)Sincerely, Ken Grome WebDNA Solutions http://www.hui.net/dna/webdna.html Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
