Templates on Unix & CGI on Mac?

numero = 12809
interpreted = N
texte = Hi all,Is it possible to have your pages/templates/graphics/database on a Unix web server and call the WebCatalog acgi running on a Mac elsewhere on the net?If so, how exactly do you write the URL. I tried something along the lines ofhttp://www.sitename.com/xxx/xxx/WebCatalog.acgi$search?template=results.tmp l&db=database.txt&sku=1234That didn't work. I thought perhaps I needed to point back to the template page so I triedhttp://www.sitename.com/xxx/xxx/WebCatalog.acgi$search?template=http:x.x.x. x/xxx/xxx/results.tmpl&db=database.txt&sku=1234As you can see, I am purely guessing , as I clearly don't KNOW what I'm doing. ;>)I also thought at the beginning, until somebody asked me if this was possible, that WebCatalog 2.0 was strictly designed for WebSTAR. (NT comming soon, of course.) The remark that was made along with the question was something like, You should be able to call the CGI from anywhere on the net.Actually, I thought that's what I was doing when I asked the server to act on a template with the appropriate suffix mapping. It seems to me that the server and the CGI are inextricably connected as the server intercepts the action and refers it to the cgi which does its thing and gives it back to the server to return to the client.But that's not what the questioner meant. He is suggesting to me that the cgi shouldn't care which server sends it a request for action. I figure some of you folks could help me understand this. The person who asked me the question sure can't.If it's possible, I would appreciate an example.ThanksJerry Nielsen - commSTRUCT Associates Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
