Unknown error: OrderNotCreated

This WebDNA talk-list message is from

numero = 15212
interpreted = N
texte = >> >An unknown error occurred: >> >OrderNotCreatedNow I see what you've done!You don't have to send me your folder hierarchy, I checked it out myself by requesting the files in the locations they *should* be in, and after trying to locate your WebCatalog.acgi in its default location, I discovered that it's not there!It appears that you have moved the WebCatalog.acgi out of the WebCatalog folder and placed it somewhere else ... in the cgi-bin folder, right? I should have picked up on this from your earlier post that showed the path to the WebCatalog.acgi, but I didn't, sorry.Since you have chosen to restrict cgi's to the cgi-bin folder, you *MUST* move the entire WebCatalog folder into the cgi-bin folder. You simply cannot remove the WebCatalog.acgi from the WebCatalog folder and put it in the cgi-bin folder and expect it to work properly, because it won't! You have to move the entire WebCatalog folder (with the WebCatalog.acgi inside) into the cgi-bin folder if you're going to restrict cgi's to the cgi-bin folder ... :)There may be another option for you, provided WebTen can handle aliases. This *other* technique requires that you leave the WebCatalog folder where it is -- in the root folder of your web site -- with everything intact the way it was before you started moving things around. In other words, the WebCatalog.acgi has to be located inside the WebCatalog folder. Then create an ALIAS to the WebCatalog.acgi and place that *alias* into the cgi-bin folder.IMPORTANT LESSON HERE:You CANNOT arbitrarily move things out of the WebCatalog folder. The only files/folders inside the WebCatalog folder which may be moved -- without messing things up -- are the GeneralStore and TeaRoom folders. Those folders are self-contained and portable packages, and they will work anywhere within your web server hierarchy ... and moving themwill not screw anything else up. But everything else inside the webcatalog folder needs to stay exactly where it is originally located in that folder.Okay, now that I think I've figured out why you're having problems, here's how to fix them:1- Quit the WebCatalog.acgi. 2- Trash the WebCatalog Prefs file that was created inside the cgi-bin folder when you launched WebCatalog. You don't need that prefs file anyways, it's a duplicate and it's incomplete. The only reason it's there now is because WebCat created it by default when it couldn't find the proper WebCatalog Prefs file (which is still right where it belongs, inside your WebCatalog folder). 3- Move the WebCatalog.acgi back where it belongs -- inside the WebCatalog folder. 4- Do one of the two things I suggested above. Either move the entire WebCatalog folder into the cgi-bin folder, or make an alias of the WebCatalog.acgi file and put that alias inside the cgi-bin folder.Assuming everything else is configured properly on your server, you shouldn't have this Unknown error: OrderNotCreated problem any more after making these changes ... :) Sincerely, Ken Grome WebDNA Solutions http://www.smithmicro.com/webdnasolutions/...
