texte = I've been asked to bid on creating a hotel reservation/inventory system for a client and I'd like to get a little advice on how to overcome the following:The client would like to be to search through a database of about 200 hotels and check for certain required amenities (swimming pool, cable TV etc) and availability for a specific date range. Then return a list of the hotels that met the amenities and availability criteria. In my way of thinking, I'm looking at a database with 1 record for each hotel and 400 fields per record in order to handle all the amenities and a field for each day of the year for keeping the inventory.Doesn't WebCat have a 100 field limit? Does anyone have any better ideas on how to accomplish this?I've thought about breaking the db down into months but havn't figured out how to accomplish inventory checks that span months.Any and all suggestions gladly appreciated. Thanks -marty Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
