texte = First off, many thanks to the list. The WebCat'ing of our site would not have happened without you. Here is the link: http://www.fabian.com/We are using WebCat Store for the processing of new and renew orders for our newsletters. Nothing too exciting here.Where the WebCat'ing of our site shines is in the back end publishing system. I want to give thanks to Britt from www.fishingworld.com for getting the idea to use WebCat this way.We have created an article database to allow our editors to publish stories via html forms. All they need to know is how to type. Via pull-down menus they can select what area they want the story published in. Once published the story title, abstract, and link is added to a Table of Contents (TOC) database that lists the various stories, like an index on the viewable pages. It also publishes via writefile the hard coded html article page. I choose this method for speed and ease of spidering rather than serving dynamically generated article pages. The story database has check box fields for the placement of often used features (i.e., should this appear on home page Y/N, order graphic, sample link, listserver subscription link, etc.) We even have a field for them to record what META keyword tags they want placed on the page.We provide our newsletters via pdf. So we created a file upload form to upload the pdf files, record the vitals to the TOC database, and then move it to the correct directory via pull down menu.We have also implemented a mutual fund searching directory (Fabian Fund Selector) using WebCat. If you are familiar with Morningstar you know what this is. This is one of our subscription based products that is updated monthly. I can't wait for the SQL ability in WebCat 3.0 specifically for easier updating of this product via our in-house SQL mutual fund database. As a special thanks I'm giving everyone one this list free access the members only area for a month. Username: webdna Pass: webdnaAs with every web site we are still making improvements so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks to all of your help and especially to PCS for making a great tool.Mark-------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Anderson marka@fabian.com Director of OPs and IS http://www.fabian.com/ Fabian Investment Resources -------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
