Re: Sendmail truncation in Eudora Clients

I don't see any [Name] or [Email] fields in this form, yet these variables are being referenced in the following sendmail context. Where are these values coming from?>sendmail.html >> [sendmail to=Kim@cnetech.com&from=[Email]&Subject=Feedback][Name] >submitted feedback, here's what he/she thought: > Additional Comments: [Comments] > [/sendmail] >email recieved: > As long as the person filling out the form does not press the return >key, the entire input is submitted properly, however, if the person does >press return, the email message is truncated at that carriage return. This is not a Eudora issue and it's not a WebCatalog issue -- it's a browser issue. Which browser is making this happen? >odd part: > I simply change the to email address to ray@mindinfo (also using >EudoraPro4 client) and the email message is fine. Are you saying that if the To: address is Kim@cnetech.com, and if the user hits the return key in the middle of the message, it will send a TRUNCATED message to Kim@cnetech.com ...But if the To: address is ray@mindinfo and if the user does exactly the same thing -- hits the return key in the middle of the message -- it will send the ENTIRE message to ray@mindinfo?That doesn't make any sense at all, since the To: address has nothing whatsoever to do with the creation of the [sendmail] message file. In fact, the To: address *only* comes into play at the time that the email message is actually sent by WebCatalog.Since these are different addresses, they are being delivered to different destinations ... and that very likely means they are being sent thru different SMTP mail servers enroute to their final destinations. And that *probably* means that one of those SMTP mail servers is messed up. Either that or the techniques used in the browser are not consistent from one test message to another, or perhaps they are and the browser is just plain buggy.Sorry folks, I still haven't seen anything to indicate that this message truncation problem is either a webcatalog issue or a Eudora issue. All I can see so far are indications that the problem is caused by the web browser or some SMTP server, or maybe a combination of both.Sincerely, Ken Grome 808-737-6499 WebDNA Solutions mailto:ken@webdna.net http://www.webdna.net Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
