Web Catalog not encrypting/decrypting problem

texte = So I decided to try WebCatalog... It looks like a full-featured product, BUT, the web interface is VERY cryptic. For somebody starting to use it for the first time, it's truly nightmare if you start getting into problems from the start. This problem is extende by the fact that the ADMIN pages use frames, one of the HTML horrors.Anyway, I use it on PowerMac system 8.1, 96 MB RAM, G3 250 MHz processor, RAM Doubler.I use Webstar 3.0.1 as the web server, with WebCatalog 2.1.3, Plug In version.I enter the point my browser to: http://localserver/webcatalog/index.htmlThe first message after install that I get is: you have to encypt the users.db file. I click on it.Than I got to the page where you have the option to: Administer the webcatalog security (users)I At that point I can login as admin admin but it would not change the password; I ask for a list of users, and I get an error message in the bottom frame. I add a user, in the ADMIN group. When I try to add a second one, it tells me that the [user]' has already been added. I I open the file with BBEdit, instead of adding the username I added, I find the [user] as the name. It seems to me that that there's an interpretation problem in the problem. I've installed and deleted the WebCatalog folder and plug-in several times, with no succes.Can somebody please help just to get me started?Is there an equivalent solution to WebCatalog that works with webstar (but NOT Typhoon, which does the same thing)??TIA,Serban Constantinescu Associated Messages, from the most recent to the oldest:
