texte = I have been working for a client doing the design, html and layout of asite for several weeks. The intent of the client was to have anotherprogrammer at his isp program the server side and database functionality inperl and C on unix. To the client's surprise, every aspect of thefunctionality that he assumed would take complex programming was quicklyand easily accomplished with WebCat. In fact, I was able to addfunctionality as we developed the interface with only a minimum amount ofeffort, which is much more than the client expected. All he expected wasexample interface pages showing all interface states that he could give tohis programmer, but what he got was a functional demo that he could beginshowing investors. Of course, now that it's almost 80% functional and theclient has asked what other functionality I can add to the design, I havebeen pushing to do the ecommerce piece of his site as well. There is oneissue that keeps coming up, though, to be able to persuade the client thatWebCat is an industrial strength solution and I don't have a clear answerfor him. His concern is that this site could become very busy and he wantsto know if a WebCat based site could be replicated across multiple serversfor load balancing and redundancy. I think with odbc and an oracle backend it seems possible, but can a site based on standard WebCat flat filesbe replicated across multiple servers?Mike DavisContent-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name=admin.vcfContent-Transfer-Encoding: 7bitContent-Description: Card for Michael Scott DavisContent-Disposition: attachment; filename=admin.vcfAttachment converted: Macintosh HD:admin.vcf 2 (TEXT/ttxt) (0001BF4F)
