texte = Click Here to Find a WebCat Developer Near You!This entire train of thought(?) is more than a little naive. How is PCS/SMsupposed to list developers of unknown quality, without pages of legalesedisavowing any responsibility. What is to stop Joe Blow, AKA Joseph Blowhard,to list himself as a WebCatalog developer and then turn around and say, foryour project, I would actually recommend CF/ASP/VB.How about only certified WebCatDesigners(TM) get listed? Who's going to testthem? You all seem to forget that PCS is a small group of programmers with adynamite product that almost no one knows about. Obvious Smith Micro saw theenormous potential in WebCatalog, which is why they worked out the deal.I am perfectly happy that PCS/SM is in the business of hosting and developingWebCat sites. Partly it is because I bought WebCat for internal development;they will never be in competition with me. Butmostly I am happy that there are web site developers just down the hall from theWebCat programmer(s). It is infinitely preferrable to have someone in thetrenches who can walk up to Grant at the water cooler and suggest some great newfeature, or some bug that just showed up. There is more web work out there forall of us in our wildest dreams. The more PR that WebCat gets, the better thesituation is for everyone.I like that the same company that developed the tools is using the tools in thereal world. It helps no one to develop the perfect computer language (anyoneheard of Oberon or Modula), if you don't have actual experience using it in thecold, cruel world.
