I could not find the cause. The first thing I did was to have a crontab entry that run every minute and executed the a modified WebCatalogCtl script. The script already has the process checking code. All I did was to take out the string that was being echoed every time the script was run which cause an e-mail to root. That did not work really well. For some reason, when Wecat was brought up after a crash, it would sometimes have difficulties communicating with Apache. So, what i did instead, and it worked well so far, was to have a script run daily, in the etc/cron.daily directory, that calls the original WebCatalogCtl script with a 'restart' arg. AND I also restart Apache (httpsd restart). The cron job runs at around 4AM and takes about 5 sec. to completeSince then, a month and a half now, we've had no crash whatsoever. Not really pretty but it works.Clem.At 08:58 -0600 1/19/00, Albert Everett wrote: >Hi there, > >Has anyone boiled down a list of things we need to know to make the >Linux/Apache version of WebCatalog to work? > >I've got a site working on both platforms.
