texte = There are two ODBC solutions between MacOS 9 and Ms SQL Server 71- An ODBC driver written by late Visigenic, now owned by Borland/Inspire.Actually, they sold the driver writing activity to InterSOLV, a subdivisionof Merant, which apparently (like everybody else) proposes e-commercesolutions.Their WebSite is a mess and nowhere can you find the new drivers thatMicrosoft carry.Apparently these drivers do not work with SQL Server 7. And Ms Query givesme an error message (data truncated)These drivers are the one that Microsoft bundles in the Value Pack of Office98. Calling Microsoft will require me to open an affair and cost me credit, for no result (I fear). MacTopia is totally mute about this subject andtheir FAQs are insert the CD Rom in the drive and double-click on theicon-type.I called Inspire, they told me to call InterSOLV... I left a message ontheir mailbox and am still waiting for someone to call me. But what I readon a web page about ODBC on the Mac, InterSOLV actually lost their key Macprogrammer in mid 1999 and does not intend to work for the Mac anymore. Allyou can download is there Data Access pack version 6 for 9x/NT and Unix.2- An ODBC router, with a server on an NT machine and a client on your Mac.You do not have to spend a lot of money buying a driver BUT the only catchis that EVEN to try the product on the NT side, you have to purchase adongle for $125.The company (August Software) is based in Nevada and their web sitehttp://www.augsoft.com does not look great (was done in 97) but they have agood online manual and their product is presented as a FINAL version.I read somewhere that it does give good results.Well, so far, I am still trying to find a solution. If anybody has it or hasheard about it, I will take it, even if it is a Beta.-------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
