texte = I'm working on WebCat app that was left to me, and I've only got a couple ofweek's experience with WebCat, so this might be a no-brainer. The app seemspretty straightforward, but I'm having problems with it.Some background:a test version is up at:http://www.nwanights.com/moviesWORKING/default.tplIt's a movie listing app that consists of three pages: the front page, ashowmovies.tpl page and a showtheaters.tpl page. The data is sent to us by a company that compiles the data. It's gotmultiple tables in one table, so the first field is like a table ID, as thefollowing fields have different functions depending on which table they'rein (i.e., what the first field contains). On the front page, you can choose either theaters or movies via a form. IFyou search by movies you go to showmovies.tpl which displays the movie titleand info, then in an include (get_theaters.inc) does a search that lists allthe theaters where that movie is playing along with showtimes. If you search by theaters, you get the info on the theater plus a listing ofmovies playing there plus showtimes. In either one, if you click on the title of a movie in showtheaters (or viceversa) it takes you to the other page and passes that movie or theater as asearch.WEBCAT Question #1:One of those fields is show_date which is in the format: 062000 is June 20,2000. I've got it set right now to parse it with [Format Days_To_Date %A, %b%d][FIELD5][/FORMAT] where FIELD5 is the show_date field in theget_movies.inc. However, as you can see if you look at it, it gives me01/01/00 as the date --- for EVERY date.Any ideas?WEBCAT Q #2:Also, right now (this could change any second), when I search on theater viaa call to show_theater.tpl, it lists ALL the movies, not just the moviesplaying at that theatre.I'd appreciate ANY and all help y'all can provide. I'm having a hard timegetting my brain wrapped around WebCatalog. I really wish SmithMicro wouldwrite (or have someone else write) a good, solid tutorial. A goodthird-party book would be great, too.Thanks,Steve------------------------------------------------Steven JarvisWeb Developersjarvis@nwaonline.netMorning News of Northwest Arkansashttp://www.nwaonline.net-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list
