Re: Demo math questions

This WebDNA talk-list message is from

It keeps the original formatting.
numero = 35492
interpreted = N
texte = The new WebCatalog starts WebCatalog when it is done installing and it also adds a startup script so that WebCatalog is restarted when the ssytem is rebooted. If you start WebCatalog after these two scenarios then you would have two instances of WebCatalog running. Note that I am talking about two instances of WebCatalog not two WebCatalog processes. Linux threats threads as a scaled down process and they show up as processes when you execute a ps command. When WebCatalog first starts with no pages being served, you should see three WebCatalog processes. The first is the main thread, the second is what Linux uses to manage all threads, the manager thread and the third is the triggers thread. As pages are being served you should expect to see more and more WebCatalog processes (threads) but as soon as the thread is done, it dies and disappears. This is assuming you have interwined turned on in the WebCatalog preferences.Tony. ----- Original Message ----- From: John Butler To: WebCatalog Talk Sent: Monday, July 31, 2000 6:19 PM Subject: Re: Demo math questions > Tony, > > in your experience, what is the cause of more than one webcat instance running? > (especially after successful installation and only one running for a while... then > later more than one. ...?) > > -John > > Antonio Ye wrote: > > > Make sure that you have only one instance of WebCatalog runnning.
