texte = The old option was to, in BBEDIT, first search/replace on all (I have aclient that uses inches as well) and change them to a character not used, #for example, then open it in Excel, make the changes, export it and then gothrough a series of delete all (which would be the smartquotes) then do asearch/replace from # to .
