We have all the new 'bus only' lanes on the highway and they arepainted green so the buses can cruise in at full speed during rush hour. The queues for the people getting onto the new 160mph express bus aren't aslong as you would think but there are a few keen people. The Mercedes/BMW/Ferrari/Honda/Toyota collaboration have been working on theproject for four and a half years and they are fairly sure that if they canget a bus to do 160mph - 240kph, then a couple of extra people probablywon't matter soo much.Load/shmoad - if the cheap computer can finish the test three times quickerthan a comparable mac then surely it will have 2/3 more time left over toserve other clients requests. Also taking into consideration that mostwindows operating systems since NT4.0 have actually been able to multi-taskwhich I think is only just being introduced into Jaguar for the mac. - hell, macs haven't used their graphics cards to do graphics for the last two yearsnow...What I would like to see is someone who has Web Cat hosted on a PS2 runningUnix. $199.00 WebServer - now that would rock the party. Any Takers? - also,I would be very interested in anybody who has a server setup with adedicated database server - SQL Server for instance and its performance inthe test - it would need to be re-written obviously to do a similar job withSQL statements but still....On 4/8/02 12:37 AM, Bob Minor
