texte = HiI am no expert when it comes to coding conventions etc but I figured I wouldthrow in my 2 cents...At the moment I am trying to get myself into a more organised form of coding/ site management and I would say that the more people that followed someform of standardised coding the better. I would disagree that if it makessense to you then that is all you require because at the end of the day youare not guaranteed to go on to further code what has been done and someoneelse may have to pick up where you left off.If in the instance that you follow your own methods and ignore conventions,if documentation is provided explaining your methodology then at leastanother coder or even yourself taking on another project from some elsewould know what is going on. Unfortunately this doesn't always happen...The implementation of coding conventions is a wise idea as it wouldeliminate (although not totally as everyone has their tweaks) the need fordocumentation. At the end of the day, making sense to yourself is always a good thing butsurely common sense (sensible naming of variables etc), some form of codingconventions and clear coding can go a long way to making life easier for allof us.Anyway... thats my contribution :-)Alanon 12/3/03 3:25 pm, Terry Wilson at terry@terryfic.com wrote:>> I don't know if that was totally helpful, but I think you get the idea.
