Things like grep (Unix grep, not WebDNA grep), less, more, diff, cvs, etc., don't work, or work incorrectly, if you use Mac line breaks. So we always use Unix line breaks. diff in particular is very crucial to me, and you can't see differences between files using diff if you use Mac line breaks.-lucasOn Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at 02:51 PM, Rob Marquardt wrote:> on 6/10/2003 4:07 pm, Glenn Busbin at GlennBusbin@alltel.net so > noted... > >> I use PageSpinner for coding on a Mac and have no problems with >> returns in >> code, so I don't need the grep or WC comment tags. > > The problem is when loops with founditems, > > > lineitems, etc cause linebreaks used to make > > > WebDNA code more legible to be duplicated > in the generated page, causing loads of needless > carriage returns in the HTML page sent to > the browser. >> Rob Marquardt > Designer/Resident Wirehead > Toast Design > > 800 Washington Avenue North > Minneapolis MN 55401 > 612.330.9863 v > 612.321.9424 f > www.toastdesign.com > > > ------------------------------------------------------------- > This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to > the mailing list . > To unsubscribe, E-mail to: > To switch to the DIGEST mode, E-mail to > > Web Archive of this list is at: http://webdna.smithmicro.com/ > ------------------------------------------------------------- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list .
